Southern Hills Hospital, a 134-bed facility in the southwest part of the Las Vegas Valley, has named a South Carolina hospital executive its new chief executive officer.
On Sept. 7, Adam Rudd, now chief operating officer at Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C., will take over the top job at Southern Hills. He replaces Kimball Anderson, who left in June to take a new job as CEO of Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, Utah. All three hospitals are among the 167 hospitals and 113 surgery centers operated by Hospital Corporation of America in the United States and United Kingdom.
Thomas Pentz has been interim CEO at Southern Hills as the company sought Anderson’s replacement.
As COO at Grand Strand the past five years, Rudd has overseen 1,200 staff members and more than 200 physicians and managed a $54 million construction project that involved a new emergency room and patient tower.
Southern Hills started construction in July on the fifth floor of the hospital, a project that will add 46 more beds for orthopedics, as well as neurological and spine patients.
