Tragedy during voluntary workout gives local coaches, athletes more pause for thought.
The Clark County School District confirmed that the 13-year-old freshman at Legacy High School who died Monday during a football workout is Cajetan Chinoyelum Nsofor.
An incoming freshman football player at Legacy High School has died during an athletics-related activity at the school, according to the Clark County School District.
The spring sports season was limited to six weeks, with some teams’ seasons even shorter because of COVID, but players and coaches were just happy to get back on the field.
Rancho, which once practiced in a city park, was among nine high schools picked to scrimmage in Allegiant Stadium during a prep football jamboree this weekend.
Liberty and Centennial have suspended all in-person football activities for 10 days after positive COVID-19 tests. Both still hope to take part in the CCSD football jamboree.
Marcos Canales ran for 162 yards and two touchdowns, and the Faith Lutheran defense limited SLAM! Nevada to 75 total yards in a 39-0 win.
